$976M largest auto defect award in PA history

Auto Defect Case Results

On November 11, 2017, Francis Amagasu’s life changed forever when the seat belt in his 1992 Mitsubishi 3000GT failed to restrain him during a 45-mph rollover crash in Buckingham Township, Pennsylvania. As a result, he suffered catastrophic spinal cord injuries that left him unable to move his arms or legs. But almost exactly six years later, on October 30, 2023, attorneys at Eisenberg, Rothweiler, Winkler, Eisenberg & Jeck, P.C., along with co-counsel from Farrar & Ball, LLP, secured justice for Mr. Amagasu when a jury returned a $976 million verdict in a lawsuit Eisenberg, Rothweiler, Winkler, Eisenberg & Jeck filed on Mr. Amagasu’s behalf.

The jury unanimously awarded $176 million in compensatory damages and $800 million more in punitive damages.
